Today, Steve's Club was invited to a golf outing at the Running Deer Golf course owned by Ron and the Jaworski Family. As most of our readers know from reading our blog, our van was broken into and vandalized last month in the parking lot of our gym. Although the van was already beat up and on its last leg, this was the nail in the coffin. Fortunately, some very caring souls in a our community from the United Way (special thanks to Erin Levengood and Mike M.) along with the Jaworski Family and several sponsors from the golf event, were kind enough to donate a new van to Steves Club.
As you can imagine everyone at the club were really pumped and excited about the news. Despite the costs of paying for the gas and the insurance (made possible by the generous individuals and affiliates pictured on the top left corner of our blog), the van will definately make a difference and help many kids get to the club on a regular basis. We're also excited because this means we can take the kids to the park on sunny days and other events and places outside the city.
So I just wanted to thank those kind souls who donated a van to our club and continue to believe in us and support our cause to bring CrossFit to young athetes (and non-athletes) who cannot afford it, but are willing to pay with hard work, dedication and committment.

You finally got a NEW VAN?!!? Fantastic!

Hello Steve and Steve's Club athletes. I stumbled across the CF Journal issue featuring your gym. I read the article with goosebumps. I am a member of CrossFit Flathead in the Flathead Valley of MT. One of the first things I fell in love with most in our gym was the sense of community and the way our coaches care about and are totally invested in each of their athletes. I know how that has touched my life so I can only imagine what it has done for the young athletes in your gym. To have somebody show up daily for each of them must speak volumes. When my husband and I travel we always find a local affiliate to train at. I hope that if we are ever in your are we are able to drop in and train with your athletes for an hour. It would be our honor. Steve, in a world where so many people look the other way when help is needed you have jumped in with total commitment and heart to make a difference in a young person's life. No matter where they choose to go in life they will never forget what you have done for them. You inspire me and as I work toward becoming a CF coach myself I hope that I can follow your example and make a difference in somebody's life.
Best Wishes, Trina in Montana
