Joe Petrusky from CrossFit Love (great website by the way....check it out!) reached out to me several weeks back to meet up and talk about getting involved and offering to volunteer his time and coaching skills at our club. Of course, knowing the great trainer and guy Joe was, I took him up on his offer and invited him to pick a day out of his busy schedule to come over and run a class.
The kids immediately took liking to him. That was until he wrote the workout of the day on the board! 13-12-11-10-9....2-1 of Burpees and KB Swings! 13 reps of each exercise followed by 12 reps of each exercise all the way down to 1 rep of each exercise.
A tough workout for sure, but certainly not the first time they had to conquer a fear (burpeephobia!) or overcome a challenge. Besides, that is what we do here on a regular basis at Steve's Club, using CrossFit, not only as a mental outlet and a place to shine for athletes and non-athletes alike but as a tool to build confidence and create healthy and productive young people.
So from the bottom of our hearts (in "CrossFit Love" style!), we want to thank Joe for spending his afternoon here at Steve's Club motivating our members to be better athletes, offering coaching tips and pushing everyone past their own physical and mental limitations.

joe rocks!! he is one of the best trainers i know. keep up the great work.
