The picture above says it all. Veteran SC athlete "CJ" (16 yrs old) teaching a new SC athlete "Josue" how to properly front squat.
CJ has been training at Steve's Club for about a year and a half now. I would never tell him this in public (as to not overinflate his ego!), but he is one of, if not our best all around athlete. The kid is a machine. CJ might only weigh 140 lbs, but he can do it all. Not only does he crush every bodyweight exercise in the book, but he can also move some weight. Today he snatched 170lbs before getting 50 reps in the workout above at 115lbs.
CJ is not only a terrific athlete, but a great student in school as well as a charming, well-mannered young gentleman.
So it is no wonder that the other kids look up to and turn to CJ for assistance....which CJ is always so kind and generous to do his very best to help any new kids feel welcomed and a strong part of our club.
I'm really proud to coach CJ and look forward to watching him continue to succeed on and off the gym mat.
