One of the best featutes of doing CrossFit as a group is the comradarie that is forged in each class. Today was no exception.
With over 20 kids in attendence, we had to run several heats to make sure the ratio of instructor/athlete was not out of whack. The experienced SC athletes always go in the first heat to set the tone and to show the inexperienced kids how it is done.
Jacob was the last guy left in his heat as he worked to finish his last set of toes the bar. Out of breath and sweating like a champ, he got stuck on his last few reps. Despite every effort, he just couldn't get the momentum to get his feet to the bar.
Within seconds every kid in the gym came over to support and root Jacob on. It was like a huge ball of energy lifted towards the center of the room to help Jacob finish the workout. Music was loud. Kids were screaming and Jacob was doing his damn best to not let himself or the 25 other people in the room down.
It was a great experience to be a part of and I couldn't be any more lucky as a coach to get the opportunity to witness this type of support and encouragement take place at Steve's Club.
