5 Rounds NOT for time:
5 DB Push Presses (#15-25)
5 DB Squat Cleans (#25-45)
Me: "Hey how come your buddy (insert name) is NOT coming to train with us today? I thought you said he was interested in joining Steve's Club."
SC Athlete: "He said he was afraid to try it because he heard it was too hard."
There you have it. It is too hard. I know this is the case so no feelings hurt here. I program the workouts so they are challenging and doable for all levels of kids that I train but there is no mistaken that the workouts are hard.
And for good reason. Our workouts are hard because our body needs hard workouts to function at its full capacity on a daily basis year after year. It is one way to keep the fire burning so to speak and keep our engines running as strong as they should. There was no other way for as long as man walked this Earth.
Sitting in a desk chair, playing video games and eating junk foods is not any way to express our great genes that were passed down from one generation to the next.
Instead, we need our kids to harness the physical strengths and feats they are capable of and learn to push their bodies harder than they think they can (without overtraining and risking injury of course).
Of course if working were easy...everyone would be doing it and we would have a very fit country which we know very well is not the case.
